The public open spaces, front gardens and outlying areas of this South Leicester residential housing development were designed with ecology, sustainability, access and natural interest at their core.
A planting palette to accommodate heights, levels and sustainable underground drainage systems meant careful tree positioning and selection of larger herbaceous plants for alternative structural impact across the development.
The creation of wildflower meadows, swales and road margins around the development completed the planting on a difficult site, built on old allotment land with a huge weed seedbank.
