As part of several ongoing projects with a housing association, this Extracare residential care home development has been designed with access, sensory interest and character in mind.
Design, costing, specification and project management: Keary Design worked with the contractor to build communal gardens, each with their own theme and character, each with sensory interest and purpose.
A blend of soft and hard landscaped elements, raised beds, circular features, borders, herbaceous and tree planting, the gardens and surrounding areas encourage movement and sensory stimulation for its residents.
Pockets of planting keep visual interest for residents from inside and out.
The gardens are feature-rich, with walkways, fencing and planters alongside low and medium height planting.
This lavender circle is just one scented swirling design, a theme continuing around the gardens and drawing interest from visitors and residents alike.
